Freelance Home-Visit Physiotherapist

Run your own home-visit caseload across Melaka — you choose the hours, the areas, and the pace.

Arrangement Freelance / independent contractor · flexible hours · own transport
Indicative pay RM 80–180 per home visit (roughly RM 40–90/hour), depending on your experience, travel and treatment length

Home-visit physiotherapy is one of the fastest-growing ways to practise in Melaka. Many patients — older adults, people recovering from surgery, stroke survivors, and anyone whose mobility makes a clinic trip difficult — get far better results when therapy comes to them. PhysioMelaka connects those patients with physiotherapists who prefer the freedom of freelance home-visit work, and this role is built for exactly that.

As a freelance home-visit physiotherapist you operate as an independent contractor. You decide how many visits you take each week, which parts of Melaka you cover, and how you structure your day. There is no fixed clinic roster and no obligation to hit a sales target — your job is to deliver good, honest physiotherapy and build a caseload you are proud of.

What the work looks like day to day

A typical visit runs 45 to 60 minutes in the patient’s home. You carry out an assessment on the first visit, agree realistic goals with the patient and their family, and then progress a plan of exercise, manual therapy, and education over the following weeks. Because you see people in their real environment, you can tailor advice to their actual stairs, bathroom, bed height, and daily routine — something a clinic visit can never fully replicate.

You choose your own routes. Some therapists cluster visits around Melaka Tengah and Ayer Keroh to keep travel short; others build a caseload around Alor Gajah or Jasin closer to home. You are reimbursed per visit, so efficient scheduling directly rewards you.

Why physiotherapists choose freelance home visits

  • Full control of your schedule — work mornings only, weekends, or fit visits around family or another job.
  • Per-visit pay that reflects travel and treatment time, rather than a flat clinic wage.
  • Deep, one-to-one patient relationships without a packed back-to-back clinic list.
  • A genuine path to building your own reputation and referral network across Melaka.
  • No pressure to upsell packages — you recommend only the sessions a patient actually needs.

What we ask of you

This is autonomous work, so professionalism matters. You must hold current MAHPC registration, carry your own professional indemnity cover, and keep clean, contemporaneous records of every session. You need reliable transport and the judgement to know when a patient should be referred back to their doctor rather than treated at home.

We expect honesty above all. PhysioMelaka is a directory that patients trust precisely because the physiotherapists on it do not overtreat or overcharge. If a patient is ready to be discharged, you discharge them.

How pay works

Freelance home visits in Melaka typically pay RM 80 to RM 180 per visit, which works out to roughly RM 40 to RM 90 per hour once travel is included. Longer or more complex visits — for example a post-stroke assessment with family training — sit at the higher end. You invoice for the visits you complete, and there is no cap on how much you take on.
